I just knew today about GTEC, an English test run by Benesse Corporation. A high school girl told me that taking the test is included in the curriculum in her school. More surprisingly students can take this English proficient test on the ipad given by school and in the speaking part they vocalize the answers toward the device. The girl explained the situation where all the students in the classroom took the test all together so it was obvious to each other that who was talking well. She described herself as "負けたくない" but during the lesson I couldn't find the right word for it. First, I thought "I want to do better than other." Hm, better one should exist..I had looked for suitable one and I think "competitive" works. "I'm competitive." I will tell her next week.
